The International Association of Lion's Clubs:
    • Organized on June 7, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois
    • Over 46,000 clubs located in 206 countries
    • Membership over 1,410,000 men and women
    • International President for 2018-2019 is Gudrun Yngvadottir from Gardabaer, Iceland.

The Royal Oak club was chartered on November 19, 1928 and today it is 90 year's old and has 29 members.
This year's Royal Oak President is Laura Mastracci

In 1925, Helen Keller speaking to the Lion's in Cedar Point, Ohio, challenged the Lion's to become "Knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" and from that time, Lions clubs all over the world have been engaged in services to the blind and the visually impaired.
In 1990, Sight First was launched in an effort to rid the world of preventable and reversible blindness.

Our Royal Oak Club supports Lion's charities including:
    • Leader Dog School
    • Beaumont Silent Children's program
    • Lion's Visually Impaired Youth Camp
    • Penrickton Center, Michigan Eye Bank
    • The Lions International Foundation
    • Boy's and Girl's Club
    • The Salvation Army
    • And many others.
We also contribute in the community and help those in need with eye exams and the purchase of eye glasses.
